Performance Running Gear On Launched

The running brand powered by Swiss technology has launched its own running gear for effortless running

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – Six years after starting up, one million people worldwide are running in On shoes. As an addition to its running shoe range, the Swiss sports company has launched its own performance running gear for men and women. “A lot of runners kept asking us, ‘When can I get On apparel to go with my On shoes?’ explains On co-founder David Allemann. “Yet it took us three years to figure out how we wanted to develop apparel differently. We decided not to do another running collection that keeps changing every season. Instead, we created the absolute essentials. Our favorite running jacket. Our favorite running shorts and tights. And our favorite T-shirt.”

But how does a running jacket become your favorite one? That’s what the founders of On kept asking themselves. So they thought about their shoes and how runners kept saying that they love their Ons because they are effortless.  It takes a lot of effort to make something look effortless became their guiding thought. They started to design running gear that has to outperform while looking relaxed.

The On Essentials feature very light and stretchable fabrics to let your body move freely. They offer protection where and when you need it. Not too much, not too little. Intelligent details beyond gimmicks make a difference. And the design of the On Essentials can move between different worlds. In the end, your favorite piece is something you don’t even notice anymore, until it is gone. There are six On Essentials for men and eight for women: a jacket, two shirts, a long sleeve shirt, a short, a running pant, a tight and a tank top. Under Armour Architech 3D Performance Trainer and Slingshot Running Footwear

adidas has teamed up with female athletes from around the world to bring a new running shoe designed with only the female athlete in mind.  The PureBoostX features a floating arch, a first of its kind that hugs the foot and provides support throughout any run. The sleek form-fitting shoe is made to meet the demands of an active lifestyle.

adidas designers studied the female foot and the way it moves by using a state-of-the-art motion tracking technology called Aramis.  The contours of the female foot inspired the design of the shoe’s unique floating arch detail.

The adaptive stretch mesh of the floating arch wraps underneath the midfoot delivering a supportive sensation during every run hence allowing a more comfortable fit that works with the natural movements of the foot.

The stretch mesh upper rests on a full length bed of thousands of energy infused Boost foam capsules. Successful Opening of Under Armour’s SM Megamall Branch

22 Oct 2014 — It’s fantastic to have witnessed the recent grand opening of the second botique of Under Armour (UA) located at SM Megamall in Ortigas, Mandaluyong City.  Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Brandon “The Truth” Vera, together with local celebrity athletes, VIPs, and guests kick off the grand opening event by cutting the ribbon (using a chain) in style .

The special launch event highlights a high-intensity six-minute interval workout dubbed as Under Armour Assault gamely participated by celebrity athletes under the guidance and coaching staff from Crossfit Mad Minute. CrossFit aka “the sport of fitness” is basically a timed and scored strength and conditioning program for athletes that focuses on pretty shorter but intense workouts to effectively burn calories, develops endurance, and strengthens core muscles.  It amazes me to see these women athletes doing the same exercises as competitively as the men! With them during the UA celebrity challenge are the equally energetic hosts Anthony Suntay and Patricia Hizon.

First Philippine Saucony Store Launched

Committed to empower runners, Saucony recently opened its first store in the Philippines on October 14, and is currently located at the 2nd floor of Glorietta 3 in Makati.  The store houses its footwear and apparel collections, and other accessories. Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ Trial Run

Last month, I received an invitation via text for an exclusive trial session of the latest running shoe from Nike, the Flyknit Lunar1+.  I was lucky enough to be among the first to try the new shoe last February 1, Friday.  The trial session started with a short talk by Andrew and it was followed by some warm up exercises led by Andrew and one of his colleagues.  A short run around the block twice then commenced after the warm up exercises.  An informal feedback method shortly ended the trial run session.  My run last Friday wasn’t my first trial run with Nike.  In fact, sometime ago, I also had the chance to try out Nike’s other products and Lunar Glide.  Actually, not only tried the shoe but also used it during my first attempt running a full marathon at the ABS-CBN Foundation’s Philippine International Marathon “Pasig River Marathon” in 2009 and a portion of the route during the Bataan Death March ultramarathon in 2011.

Kinvara 3: So Much Technology, So Little Shoe
The next-generation Kinvara, weighing only 7.7 ounces (based on a men’s size 9), is a performance training shoe with a 4mm heel-to-toe offset that positions the runner’s foot during impact in a way that creates a greater range of motion than traditional running shoes (with a 12mm heel-to-toe offset) for the Gastrocnemius-Soleus-Achilles tendon system, allowing for a more powerful running stride.
Saucony has taken the Kinvara 3 to a whole new level with a precision engineered upper that is lighter and more flexible thanks to FlexFilm™ technology, a lightweight, highly dynamic flexible film affixed onto the breathable mesh upper that secures and stabilizes the foot throughout the gait cycle. Memory Foam heel pods in the collar ensure an ultra-secure ride.
Saucony’s high abrasion EVA exposed foam midsole allows for lightweight protection underfoot, while maximizing rebound and flexibility. After studying wear patterns on thousands of test shoes, Saucony adjusted the outsole design on the new Kinvara 3 to increase durability and promote an even smoother transition. XT-900 carbon rubber pods were strategically placed on parts of the Kinvara 3’s outsole for enhanced durability without adding weight. The reengineered outsole includes a beveled heel to better facilitate a natural rolling movement from heel to toe.
